1. Location
Do you like history, culture, shopping or nature? The Post Oak Hotel is in the perfect location. It is about a 6-minute drive from the Galleria, so you can shop all day before relaxing in the luxurious hotel. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the museum and theatre districts, so you can learn about dinosaurs at the Museum of Natural Science, admire the art at the Museum of Fine Arts, or watch a show at The Hobby Center. If you are looking for nature, it is 7 minutes from the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, a little oasis in the middle of the city.
2. Accommodation
The rooms have a contemporary modern style starting at 526 sq. ft. The luxury guest room is divided into two areas by a TV. One side is the bed and the other side is a sofa. This hotel loves technology: the lights, TV, fan, and drapes are all controlled by a tablet. The bathroom even has a TV above the tub, so you can relaxing in the bath while watching your favorite show.
The hotel is next to a major freeway. However, I did not notice the traffic noise when the drapes were closed, and when they were open it sounded like a faint white noise machine. If you are worried about the noise you can request a room on the other side of the hotel but you will miss the views of downtown.
The Executive Suites are located at the corners. They have a larger sitting area and a more distinct separation between the sitting area and bedroom. All the rooms have a technogym personal wellness rack (dumbbells).
3. Spa
The spa is a 20,000 sq. ft. area of complete relaxation where you can have massages, rituals, wraps, scrubs, and facials. There is also a steam room, a sauna, ice fountain, and a small pool with hydrotherapy jets.
4. Bar & Restaurants
Within the hotel, there is a bar, four restaurants, and a coffee shop. The H Bar is located next to the lobby. It serves delicious cocktails in a dark funky bar with black-and-white photographic art on the back wall.
The four restaurants are Mastro’s, Willie G’s, Craft F&B, and Bloom & Bee. Mastro’s is a sophisticated steakhouse and Willie G’s is a contemporary seafood restaurant. Both of these restaurants are located next to the restaurant and can be charged to the room.
Craft F&B is a casual restaurant serving wood-fired pizza and pub-style food in a modern-industrial decor. Bloom & Bee provides fresh, locally-inspired cuisine in a pink floral environment. Both of these restaurants are located in the hotel. Bouchee Patisserie is a coffee shop serving amazing Parisian style pastries.
You can order food from any restaurant at any other restaurant. For example, you could order food from Bloom & Bee’s menu while you actually eat at Craft F&B.
