What are the Calanques?
Calanques begin as steep limestone valleys formed by erosion during times of lower sea levels. When sea levels rise, the valleys are partially submerged to form cliff-edged inlets (Calanques). The best-known examples of Calanques occur along a 12-mile stretch of coastline between Marseille and Cassis.
How do you visit the Park?
You can visit the Calanques National Park either by land or sea. We recommend taking a mini-cruise and seeing the stunning landscape from the sea as you get a different perspective.
